Towards the end of last year I decided I was going to build myself a new PC. I’d had the same one for the past few years and needed dual cores as I found I was doing a lot more multi-tasking than I was previously and also that I needed a little bit more RAM and also some more HDD space, so I thought rather then just upgrade, I would do a whole new build!
So, the following items were purchased:-
- AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (3.2Ghz)
- Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UDP5 (Rev 1.0)
- G.Skill Ripjaw 4Gb (2×2Gb) PC12800C7 1600Mhz 7-7-7-24 (1.65v)
- Sapphire ATi Radeon 5850 1Gb (Not pictured during build due to later purchase)
- 2 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500Gb SATA-II (16Mb Cache)
- LG GH22NS50 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter
- Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case
- Antec Freezer 64 Pro
- 3 x 120mm Blue LED Antec Cooling Fans
- Windows 7 Home Premium (64Bit)
Then came the fun part, putting all of these components together which after figuring out the best route for the cabling and so on didn’t take that long at all, I’ve added a few pictures below of various parts of the process from start to finish.
